For most of this week we have been practising our amazing Christmas production 'Ned's Christmas Discovery'. We all played a part in the play from traditional nativity characters to toys in a toy shop. The children spoke beautifully and I'm sure their family and friends were extremely proud.
We have also been making Christmas cards and calendars to take home for our loved ones. This week we have had lots of fun and are so excited about the Christmas holiday and spending time with our families.
This week we have been designing and making things to sell at our Christmas Fayre.
We made snowman decorations and salt dough ornaments for the Christmas tree. Our stall was a huge success and many of our grown ups dug deep and raised lots of money for the school.
This week we have been spending lots of time ordering numbers and placing them on a number line. We have arranged, drawn and jumped down number lines from 0-5 and then 0-10. When we mastered that we worked on numbers from 11-20.
Exciting times ahead for Class 1 as we started the rehearsals for our Christmas play! We have also been enjoying decorating our wooden tree that has been fantastic for practising our fine motor skills.

2 members of Class 1 have achieved their bronze reading certificates for reading at home- Well done Evie and Oliver!
This week in class we have been focusing on writing in all our areas. We have started a book called 'Our Amazing Models' so that we can record what wonderful things go on in our construction area and with the new crates and planks outside. Everyone has been trying really hard to label their models and to write captions and warnings such as 'keep out!' and 'Do not touch!'.
In Maths we have been exploring 3D shapes and looking for everyday objects that look like them.
On Friday we talked about Children in Need and how lucky we are to have everything that we need and how some other children are not so lucky. The children all spoke about how that must feel and related this back to what we have learnt this week during anti-bullying.
After a lovely half term we are ready and raring to go with Autumn term 2!
We came back to a new role-play area- a garage, and we have spent all week fixing the car and being receptionists. We have been booking in vehicles to fix and writing down what is wrong with the car after the mechanic has looked at it.
In maths we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have been shape detectives and artists, trying to find shapes everywhere we look and painting using only shapes.
Another exciting delivery arrived this week which included lots of new materials and crates to build dens. We cant wait to start exploring the new resources and being amazing architects.
