Spring Term 1

Week 5

This week it has been Science week. On Monday we found out about how easily germs can spread and how important it is to wash our hands properly. We did this by doing an experiment with glitter! On Tuesday we talked about how to keep healthy. We tried lots of new fruits and made fruit kebabs🍍🍓🍇🍉🍏🍎🍌🍊 On Wednesday we talked about our 5 senses and sang a song about it. On Thursday we didn't do Science but we talked about E-Safety. We know how important it is to stay safe when using a tablet, phone or computer and that we must always ASK A GROWN UP before we use any of these things. If something looks different or we are not sure we should always TELL SOMEONE AND ASK FOR HELP. On Friday we investigated how ingredients change when we add things, mix them and cook them. We made pancakes! They were very yummy😋

Week 4

Our federation Space day was a great success. We loved going in the planetarium and learning all about planets. We even saw a video of a real astronaut trying to brush his teeth in space! We made lots of new friends from our other schools and enjoyed all the exciting space activities which included: making alien hats, decorating planet biscuits, making alien pom poms, learning space songs and even a space dance!

Week 3

To round up our topic we had our parent session this week. What a fantastic afternoon we all had! So many of our grown ups joined us to show off their skills designing, modelling and making their vehicles. Thank you to everyone who sent in “junk” and helped at the session making it such a great success. Enjoy the photos 😃😃🚔🚍🚘🚖✈️🚀🚤🏎🚒😃😃

Week 2

This week our literacy and topic work has been all about a Julia Donaldson story  "Room on the Broom". We have been making our own bog monsters, designing magnificent brooms and finding rhyming words.

In Maths we have been subtracting in different ways using cubes, counters and number lines.

In science we have been predicting, testing and recording when experimenting with things that float or sink.

We have talked about how busy our roads are with all the different kinds of transport so we learned "The Green Cross Code".

Week 1

A fantastic start to a new year! We have read "We're going on a bear hunt" by Michael Rosen. We have sequenced, found adjectives, written our own story books and acted out the story.

In maths we have been learning number bonds to ten. We know the pairs of numbers which are "best friends" that always stick together to make ten. Join in with the ten dance by following the link to help you learn your number bonds to 10😃
