In school this week it has been science week. Class 1 have really enjoyed learning about our senses, healthy eating and carrying out a fair test. We looked at friction and how that affects the speed of an object going down a ramp. We made predictions about what we thought would happen...but we were wrong!
In maths this week we been learning about height and length and have discussed the language of taller/shorter, longer/shorter.
We're all looking forward to the half term holiday and are excited to carry on with our amazing class 1 journey when we get back to school.
This week has been a very exciting one as we have been on a school trip to Sacred Heart. We went to join in with the launch of our new topic 'Moon Zoom'. The travelling planetarium was set up in the hall and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the 'wonderdome'. We made alien hats, space cookies and pompom aliens as well as participating in some space dancing!

We have looked at old and new transport this week in topic and have sorted vehicles from the past and present. Some of the old vehicles look really funny...especially the old bikes!
In Maths we have been learning to tell the time at O'clock and half past and have made our own clocks.
We have spent lots of time this week playing games that involve taking turns and have been speaking to our friends using kind words.
St Michael and All Angels now has its own airport in Class 1 and we have loved playing there, we have some aspiring pilots and cabin crew
This week we have been learning about subtraction in maths. We have built towers using bricks and taking away from 10 to find out the difference. We have really enjoyed subtracting like a pirate and have been singing lots of subtraction songs.
In school this week we have been involved in mass and have spoken about mass in RE and thought about our local church community.
After a lovely Christmas break we are all back in school ready for the term ahead. In Literacy we have been enjoying the book 'We're going on a bear hunt'. We have had so much fun re-telling, acting out and writing about the story...watch our video to see our bear hunt song!
In Maths we have been learning about number bonds to 10 and have been using lots of different resources to represent number bonds to 10.
