Spring Term 1

Week 4: This week we have visited York's Chocolate Story where we learnt all about the origins of Chocolate, along we York's chocolate history. Obviously the best part of the day was making and eating the chocolate!

Week 2

We have had fun this week learning all about 3D shapes. We sorted the shapes into Carroll diagrams and learned some new tricky vocabulary to help us describe the properties of different shapes.

We ended the week with a sticky (and delicious) lesson. One group were set the challenge of building 3D shapes with spaghetti and marshmallows. They had to use their knowledge of each shapes edges, faces and vertices to help them. How do you think they did?

Another group were tasked with applying their knowledge of 3D shapes and buildings to attempt to build the tallest free-standing tower they could. The winning tower was 53 cm tall and was even able to withstand me giving the table a good wobble! This was a very tricky task and tested their team work and problem solving skills.
Remember our letters to parents are put on our website so if you lose a letter please check under the parents' section of your child's school and you should find a copy there.
