Week 7

This week we had our class Christmas party. after a few technical glitches we had such a fantastic time. We danced, played pass the parcel, 4 corners as well as held a class raffle. We had lots of different winners of our class prizes and ended a wonderful afternoon playing pin the nose on Rudolph.

Week 6

This year as a class we have missed out on leading our school Christingle service. We decided to continue the tradition and hold our service in class. We all performed the assembly and our parts like we should have and lit our Christingles as we sung our Christingle song.

Week 5

In Science this week we have been looking at complete and incomplete circuits. We looked at scientific drawings and tried to recreate these using the equipment to prove whether a circuit was complete or incomplete and whether that made our buzzers buzz.

Some of us began to experiment adding a circuit break to our circuits with different types of switches.

Week 4

Class 5 have been working on different movements and moving these to beats in our dance lessons. We have created a dance to a beat of 8 thinking about how we can move and choreograph our groups movement in time to that beat.

We have also created some excellent improvisation stills for our anti bullying dance. Each member of the group entered the scene and assumed the position of one of our characters without discussion and worked off the previous members to produce excellent still scenes.

Week 3

This week class 5 went to Crucial Crew. We had some very informative scenarios and information provided to us by the South Yorkshire emergency service providers. We made everyone proud with our behaviour as well as excellent questioning and participation on how to react if you are caught in a housefire or need to provide basic first aid or contact the police.

Week 2

This week in maths we were looking at the order of operations. Before we could look at BODMAS we created the story that our BODMAS calculations were asking us by using counters. By doing this we were able to fully understand why certain calculations must come before others for the question to make sense.

Week 1

This week class 5 have been looking at movement and spatial awareness. We were looking at how to move around a space quickly but also how we can manoeuvre our bodies to make quick turns and movements. we played the 4 corners game where we started at opposite corners and one person had to catch the other.
