Welcome to Class 2! 

We are so excited for the new school year and have lots of exciting things to learn about with you all! 

Your teachers this year are Mrs Fox (Monday & Tuesday) and Mrs Armstrong (Thursday & Friday), we alternate the Wednesdays. We are supported in class by Miss Simms and Miss Johnson.

Our PE day is on a Wednesday. Full PE kit must be in school on this day and earrings must be removed at home before coming to school.

Book bags must be in school EVERY day. Reading at home makes a HUGE difference and really helps to support your child in so many areas of learning. If your child reads 3 times per week, they will receive 10 credits. If they read 5 times per week, they will not only receive the credits but they will be entered into our prize draw to take home our 'Magic Bag' that week. This is something that our children really look forward to! 

We will send home our homework diaries every Wednesday and expect them to be back in school the following Monday to be checked by a member of staff.

Our expectations are that Y1 children will write a diary entry consisting of a minimum of 2 full sentences. Y2 children will write a diary entry consisting of a minimum of 4 full sentences. 

Remembering:

- Capital Letters

- Full Stops

- Finger Spaces

- Using Phonics to spell words independently

- Checking that their writing makes sense

Inside each homework diary their is a sticker with their personal login details for Times Table Rockstars! This is an engaging, education app which helps to develop the recall of times tables. Please encourage your child to play as frequently as possible. They will be rewarded for this in school
