Autumn Term 2

Week 7: The final week before Christmas saw us really focus on Advent. We looked at the third Candle representing Joy and linked this to the Joy Mary felt during The Annunciation. We looked at various paintings and from this created Christmas Cards and verses.

Week 6: This week saw the end of our Design Technology project and our Christmas Fair! We adapted our recipe based on what our consumers thought and baked enough Gingerbread to raise £120! Thank you to everyone that bought our product!

Week 5: This week in Design Technology, we created consumer surveys for Class 4 and Class 5 to complete. It is important when we are making a product that we make a product that people like and will buy! Once we analysed this information we baked our first batch of gingerbread! We will be seeing what our consumers and if there is any changes we need to make before next week's Christmas Fair!

Week 4: We have started our new topic: Scrumdiddlyumptious, which focuses all on food! To kick start our new topic, Class 3 have embarked on a Design Technology product with the intent of creating our own gingerbreads to sell at the Christmas Fayre. We begun by first tasting different gingerbreads and evaluating the flavour, texture and appearance of a good gingerbread. We have also be taking part in Taekwondo every Tuesday. Here are some videos on the skills we have been looking at.

Week 3: We drew our topic Tremors to a close by completing our scientific models of their chosen volcano!

Week 2: Our parents session was a very messy success! We used mod-rock to create the first part of our scientific models of volcanoes!

Week 1: Welcome back! The weather is getting colder, so in PE we have started our Gymnastics topic to keep warm and toasty. We looked at balances and what makes a good balance. Class 3 learnt about tension and extension and had a practise of different point balances, using 1,2,3 or 4 parts of their body. In Topic we created Haiku Poems, traditional Japanese poems that capture a moment in nature and follows a syllable pattern. Have a listen below!
