St Michael And All Angels Catholic Primary School

Autumn Term 2

Week 7:

A lovely end to our advent season in school this week with our advent mass led by Class 5 and Father Brett as well as our KS2 Carol service. The children were amazing and got everyone in the Christmas mood. Merry Christmas everyone.

Week 6:

A very busy week of advent preparation and Christmas craft this week to get ready for the Christmas fayre. We made lots of wonderful decorations and we are almost ready for our KS2 carol concert next week.

Week 5:

This week we have continued our work on Identity by looking at our own physical characteristics. We recorded a number of physical traits of our class using Microfsoft Excel and have begun to use some of our ICT skills to create graphs to represent different aspects of our data.

Week 4:

This week we have learnt about Judaism as part of our Come and See work on other faiths. We found out about the basic principals of Judaism, some of their celebrations and a little bit about the history of Judaism. We then wrote non-chronological reports on what we had found out.

Week 3:

This week we have started our topic on identity. We began by looking at what forms our identity and the different types of identity that we could think of. We then created branching databases to help identify members of our class based on their physical traits.

Week 2:

This week Class 5 took part in a taekwondo class. We really enjoyed learning some of the punches and kicks that go with this martial art and are looking forward to our next lesson.

Week 1:

This week we have visited Crucial Crew to learn about safety in the home and when we are out. We learn't about fire safety, crossing the road, arson, criminal responsibility and lots more.

Class 5 have led an assembly to celebrate Remembrance Day focusing on the history of the poppy appeal and what it represents.
We also packaged up shoe boxes as part of our school's work for Operation Christmas Child where we create shoe boxes filled with gifts to be sent around the world to different children. We hope that these gifts will bring joy to the 21 children that we have made shoe boxes for.
One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
