Our Class Novel

Week 2

In Class 4 this week we have continued to build upon our brilliant start to the Summer term. We have begun to develop our writing skills by focusing on grammatical techniques used within persuasive texts, including choosing genre specific vocabulary and creating impressive expanded noun phrases to catch our reader's attention.  In Maths, we have continued our hard work on fractions and are starting to convert more complex mixed numbers and improper fractions. In Art, we have been looking at Prehistoric pieces of art and have created our own line drawings based on animals. Swimming continued again this week and we continue to impress our swimming coaches with our hard work and dedication. 

Week 1

This week Class 4 have had a fantastic return to school after the Easter break. In Literacy, we have started to explore how persuasive texts appeal to the reader and the features that authors use when creating these texts. In Maths, we have begun our topic for this term which is fractions, looking at equivalent fractions and converting mixed numbers and improper fractions. For Computing this week, we have investigated tinkering with software, exploring how programs work and the methods we can use to independently learn new skills. We have also started our new curriculum topic which is World War 2. So far, we have discussed what we already know about conflict and how conflicts are caused and resolved. Brilliant work in Week 1 guys!
