Spring Term 2

Our Class Novel

Week 6

Holy Week - We concluded our Holy Week journey by leading an assembly about the Stations of the Cross. More photos can be found on our school Facebook page.

Computing - We have been learning about networks and how they work across schools. We went to have a look at our school server and network switch. We were amazed at how big the server is and we had lots of questions to ask about it! It was fascinating!

Week 5

Bollywood Dance Workshop - This week, we have been learning about life in India and Indian culture and customs. We really enjoyed taking part in a Bollywood Dance Workshop, learning lots of new moves which originate from Indian folk dance.

India - Some of the children in Class 4 and their families organised a very special assembly for us this week. They shared lots of interesting information about the Indian culture and what life is like in India.

Week 4

'Hit the Button!' - In Class 4, we are always looking for new and fun ways to learn our times tables and at the moment we are really loving a fast-paced game of 'Hit the Button'. Click on the link below the photo to have a go at home.

'Wonderland Restored' - This week, we had a singing workshop with a member of the cast from the opera 'Wonderland Restored'. The opera will be at the Barnsley Metrodome this summer and our class will be joining the cast on stage to sing some of the songs!

Week 3

World Book Day - We loved wearing our costumes and sharing our thoughts about our favourite books on World Book Day. We had a pop-up Reading Cafe in the classroom with lots of new titles to sample and we also took part in the 'Big Book Quiz'. We really do love our books here in Class 4, so it was definitely one of our favourite days of the year so far.

RE - We have been learning about the consecration. By the consecration, the transubstantiation of the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ is brought about.

History - We re-enacted a Viking 'Thing', which we decided is similar to a modern day court trial.

Week 2

Science - We made a model of the muscles in a human arm and explained how they work.

Famous Author Q&A - We were very lucky to attend an online question and answer session with the comedian and award-winning children's author David Baddiel. David answered questions from the children about being an author, growing up in a Jewish home, and also about the famous football anthem 'Three Lions on a Shirt' which he co-wrote and sung!

Week 1

In R.E. this week, the children were learning about the Passover and how it is remembered by Jewish families today. They wrote a newspaper report for the 'Wombwell Times' to inform others about the various activities that take place during this time.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
