Spring Term 1

Week 7

This week we have been very busy learning all about other cultures. In class 3 we have found out about the Flag of India and what each part represents. We have also learnt Indian dancing and we have designed Rangoli patterns. This is also the end of our cricket training, we have had a fantastic time and learnt so many new skills.

Week 6

We have had great fun painting our dinosaurs this week, a few limbs have been lost but they still look amazing!

Week 5

Thank you for taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch 2019! The results will be sent in and by taking part, you have helped the RSPB to find out more about our wonderful garden wildlife. As you can see the children enjoyed making their bird feeders. Thank you also for supporting our Class 3's parent's afternoon.  The dinosaurs are nearly ready for painting, which everyone is excited about!

Week 4

Thank you to everyone who came to Class 3's parent's afternoon. We made some amazing clay model dinosaurs which we will be painting next week.

Week 3

Class 3 have been learning how to use pastels this week. The different techniques we have used are blending, smoothing, layering and stippling. We then put the different techniques into action and created these amazing bird pastel pictures.

Week 2

This week in literacy we have been experts in the field of animal welfare and protection. We were given a brief that said the following:

The Brief

There has been a major disaster on a small island in the Ocean. Many endangered species are on this island and a fire has taken over. All the animals are being forced to flee into the mountainous area at one end of the island.

An expert rescue team has been contacted and are preparing to fly to the disaster site. This team has a long history of rescuing animals in all sorts of circumstances – from the very small to the very large. The team have state of the art equipment, machinery and vehicles.

We had to work together in a team and decide how we were going to rescue the animals, then we had to plan out the rescue using our expert skills and knowledge. After this the children wrote some amazing recount of their rescue efforts, well done!

Week 1

Welcome back class 3 and a Happy New Year to you all!  This week we have been busy writing poetry in literacy and we have had our first cricket coaching lesson.
