To Class 1 2019 - 2020

Well it hasn't been the end of year we expected, but a big WELL DONE to all of Class 1 this year. The time that we had together as a class was fantastic. You had all made great progress and made wonderful friendships this year! It has been a pleasure to teach you all and I would like to wish you all a happy and safe summer holidays. To our children who are moving into Class 2 in September good luck and best wishes! We will miss you in Class 1. To those children who are staying with us in Class 1 I can't wait to see you all in September!

Take care and stay safe.

Key Words

Year 1 and Foundation Stage have key words that they learn to sight read. They are a mixture of words that can be Fred Talked and Red Words (which need to be sight read). Key words are words that occur frequently in storybooks. The ability to sight read key words develops children's fluency when reading. Below is a PDF document of key words for both year groups. The words are in order of difficultly, so begin with foundation words and as you through the document they will move onto year 1 key words.
