Autumn Term 2

Week 3

This week we started our new topic (Are we there yet?). We went to Yorkshire Transport Museum. The knowledgeable members of staff  at the museum helped us understand the history of different vehicles. To thank them, we decided to sing them some of the nursery rhymes we learnt last week.

Week 2

This week Mrs Gill ( from Tesco Hoyland), came to make bread with class 1. We had been reading  'The Little Red Hen' story. We also made some soup.

In R.E, we having been learning about baptism. We role-played a baptism scene in church.

We also had a visitor from Bookstart who shared  some stories with parents and children. We also had a treasure hunt. A big thank you to the family members who were able to attend.

It was also Anti-Bullying week, we  drew pictures of ourselves on jigsaw pieces and made a jigsaw puzzle that showed all our different features. We learnt that though we are all different, we are all equal.

We  finished the week raising money for Children  in Need. We decorated buns and had our faces painted. We then made coin trails with all the money we'd collected. What a busy fun week we have had!

Week 1

We have started this term by sharing our half term memories. A lot of children had been to a bonfire night celebration  but some had not. We decided to make our own bonfire. We discussed safety issues around fires and fireworks.

On Friday we made poppies  for Remembrance Day and learnt about staying safe online.
