Spring Term 1
What are we learning this half term?
Our first full week back!
We have started our new History topic; The Romans!
We had an exciting VR experience and visited a colosseum, an ancient Roman street and explored lots of new vocabulary.
We have been finding out about when The Romans existed and looking at this on a timeline. The children were finding out about BC and AD to help us with our History knowledge and made their own timeline by ordering different dates correctly.
Our RE topic this half term is all about 'Community'. We are finding out the importance of community and the communities that we belong to. We have been looking at the qualities of the apostles and why Jesus chose them to do such an important job. This has helped us to think about the type of people we want to be in our communities.
Week 2 and 3
The children have been trying to draw from observation as part of our art topic: architecture!
We have looked at different patterns, brick styles and house layouts before having a go at replicating our own.
History
The children have loved looking at how the Romans conquered other countries with their powerful army! This lesson was followed by a lesson looking at the Roman army and their amazing tools and weapons that helped them conquer lots of places!
Week 4 and 5
Class 3 have been working hard to practise their balancing using different body parts at different heights!
