Spring Term 1

Week 6

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands!

Still image for this video
A very brave young man in Class 2 shared his talent with us today by teaching myself and our class Makaton to the song 'If you're happy and you know it'.

He did a beautiful job and we learnt the actions very quickly because of his excellent teaching skills.

What a wonderful thing we've learnt today in Class 2!
Week 5

Our Carnival Day and Parents Afternoon have helped Class 2 to begin our topic 'Rio De Vida' with a big splash of colour and lots of fun!

In Class 2 we have completed map work, locating Brazil, important cities and it's neighbouring countries.

Then, we made some Brazilian dishes and tried some traditional food and drink.

We listened to music, identified percussion instruments used, played along and then, began to develop Samba dance skills.

Finally, we worked with parents to create carnival masks, banners, flags and fans and they look beautiful, many of the masks will be displayed in Class 2!

What a wonderful Carnival Day!!!

Thank you to all of Class 2 for really embracing our carnival day and to all parents that came along to our afternoon and made it so successful.

Week 4

Gymnastics - Rolling

This week, Class 2 continued to gain knowledge in Gymnastics, focusing on Rolling, this lesson.

We were taught how to sensibly use our school's gymnastic mats and then, to safely do a forward roll, a tuck roll or egg roll and teddy-bear roll.

The children were very sensible and took part in our lesson well showing their gymnastic skills, confidence and care for one another when they helped their peers to learn.

Fantastic Gymnastics Class 2!

Week 3

Science Experiments in Class 2: Making Bubbles

This Wednesday, Class 2 tested different soap products, such as washing-up liquid, bubble bath, a bar of soap, and washing powder, to find out which created the best bubbles!

We made predictions before testing, then used whisks to create bubbles. We found out which created the longest lasting, biggest, smallest and foamiest bubbles.

Week 2

This Tuesday, Class 2 presented our Class Assembly to children in our school and to our friends and families.

They have worked very hard to learn their lines, recall a drama they did on George and the Dragon, remember Taekwondo moves they have been taught and, to remember the moves to our assembly's songs.

Well done to everyone in Class 2 for taking part and sharing all their lovely memories from Class 2 in our first term.

Fantastic work Class 2!

Week 1

Cinderella: Our School Pantomime

Welcome back Class 2!

This Wednesday, Class 2 got the opportunity to watch the pantomime Cinderella with the whole school in our school hall.

The children really enjoyed watching the pantomime, in particular, a very funny moment with Mr Thorpe at the end!

Thank you to everyone for behaving so beautifully in the pantomime and for really taking part and getting into the spirit.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
