We are now well into our new topic which is called 'Bright Lights, Big City' and we have continued to think about the features of letters by writing a formal letter to Her Majesty The Queen.
We have also welcomed some new children into FS1 this week by sharing some books with them and this got us thinking about how we could encourage these younger children to enjoy books even more. So, in our DT lesson this week we did some research by evaluating a range of books that have moving pictures. We then focused on learning how to create a sliding mechanism to create our own moving pictures - it was great fun!

In Computing, we have started to learn about online safety in greater depth and we know that online safety is a very serious issue. But we did have some fun with a new character called Buddy who taught us a little song to remind us about staying safe online.
In maths we have been learning how to double numbers and also how to find halves of numbers too. We have then used this skill to look at number patterns and also to solve real life number problems. Knowing number doubles and halves can really help to speed up fluency in maths so here is a little game to help us:
