School Council

Meet Our School Council

Our school council with Councillor Kevin Osborne

We are the school councillors at St Michael and All Angels Catholic Primary School and we have been elected by our peers.

Article 12 of the Convention on Rights of the Child states

‘All children have the right to an opinion.’

We are the pupil voice for the children at our school and we communicate with other stakeholders on a regular basis. We are always willing and able to put forward, and consider, other people’s views in our meetings and share information with the school council teacher representative, head of school and other members of staff.

We meet on a regular basis to help with decisions about school life, and we represent the school at meetings or outside events. We also organise projects that support learning and development, such as charity events and awareness days.

School council aims:

  • To meet regularly to share our views.
  • To organise whole school and class events.
  • To organise charity days.
  • To ensure that our school is a happy and safe place for everyone.
  • To ensure children have a place to voice their concerns, opinions, and thoughts.
  • To encourage all children in school to suggest ideas and improvements.
  • To ensure any suggestions or concerns are listened to and acted upon.
