Week 7

This week we have been learning about the Easter Story and have had lots of different Easter activities to do. We have started creating our Easter cards with a focus on patterns. We have been learning about repeating patterns and symmetrical patterns. 

Week 6

This week we have done some baking ready for our parent session. We worked together in small groups to make some shortbread. Our parent session was a great success! We loved having our adults come into school to play with us! We decorated our biscuits and showed our adults what we like to do when we are at school. 

Week 5

To follow up from our experiment last week we found that our cress seeds did grow! The cress we looked after grew very well, it was tall and green. The cress without any sunshine grew but went yellow and bendy. The cress that had no water had only just started to grow and was very tiny. Lots of the children were able to talk about the differences they could between the cress. 

This week we have also been focusing on Mother's Day. We used the iPad to create our Mother's Day collages and we have had flowers in the classroom to inspire our paintings and drawings. 

Week 4

As part of our Come and See topic this term we have been learning about how things grow. This week we have started an experiment! We have been learning about what plants need to grow. We are growing some cress. We are going to see what happens to the cress if we take away something that it needs. We have four pots of cress seeds. Two of the pots are going to be looked after. We are going to put them in a sunny place and give them lots of water. One pot of cress is going in a dark cupboard. One pot of cress is going in a sunny place without any water. We will update you next week to let you know what happens! 

Week 3

This week we have continued our Talk for Writing focus on 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. We changed the story to create our own story. Our story is called 'We're Going on a Crocodile Hunt'. We really felt like authors! 

We have also been having dancing lessons! We loved learning some new dance moves and bringing it together as a dance routine. 

Week 2 

This week we have been learning the story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' through Talk for Writing. We have created a story map and have been creating our own story maps in busy time! You can watch a video of us performing the story on our school's Facebook page. 

We also had World Book Day. We all came dressed up as our favourite characters. 

Week 1 

We have had a very busy first week back this week! On Monday we created a performance in a day of 'Where the Wild Things Are'. On Tuesday we started our Class 1 assembly practice. On Wednesday we were very busy applying our skills during busy time! On Thursday we were playing rhyming games and on Friday we just about perfected our assembly ready for next Monday! We have one practice left on Monday and then it is the real thing! We are very excited to be showcasing our learning in front of an audience!
