Children's Mental Health Week

This week has been Children's Mental Health Week.  We have enjoyed making our voices heard and using our Zones of Regulation tool kits to help us regulate our emotions.  As a little treat for working so hard this half term, we watched some of the Disney/Pixar movie Inside Out and discussed what the different colours represented.

This week we have loved learning about Chinese New Year and have made some beautiful drawings of dragons to celebrate the year of the dragon.

WK 4 W/C 29/01/2024

In literacy we have been exploring a range of non-fiction texts - We have been looking at different types of recounts.

WK 3 W/C 25/01/2024

Class Liturgy

Our class virtue is 'Simplicity' and we discussed this in our class liturgy.  We talked about how we should be thankful for the simple things in life such as going on a walk, spending time with our family.

We are going to be introducing a whole class well being strategy called 'Zones of Regulation'.  We listened to the story called 'The Colour Monster' by Anna Llenas and put words to our feelings.  We then talked about what strategies help us when we are feeling dysregulated.

WK 2 W/C 15/1/2024

In maths we have been learning about the value of coins. We have been sorting, ordering, counting coins and making amounts using different combinations of coins.

This week the children started to learn all about the Great Fire of London! We stepped back in time with Magic Grandad to be eyewitnesses to the fire! We thought about other sources of evidence to find out about the past and examined old pictures to tell us more about the way of life in 1666.

WK 1 W/C 8/1/2024 -

The children enjoyed exploring different types of books today. They learnt about fiction and non fiction and how to tell the difference between them.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in a diverse and ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
