Week 2
This week, we've started our first maths unit which is all about place value. We've been exploring numbers up to 10,000,000! Our reading text for our guided reading lessons this week focused on a setting description of an ancient Egyptian city. This helped us to learn even more about our history topic! Did you know that they grew parsley in ancient Egypt?
We had our first music lesson with Mr Edge this week which was a lot of fun! We focused on being able to utilise our voices in different ways and even learnt some Italian - 'piano' and 'forte'.
In Science, we started our unit all about electricity. We built circuits and tested our skills!
Week 1
Class 5 have had a brilliant first week back at school! Although there were some sleepy faces on Wednesday, that didn't stop everyone from trying really hard and getting stuck into learning!
We started reading our first class novel of the year, 'Cirque Du Freak' by Darren Shan. In maths, we focused on recapping some key arithmetic skills. We also started our first history topic which is all about the ancient Egyptians!
