Year 5 Sports Day at St. Pius
Week ending Friday 8th July 2022
Thankfully the weather held and we all enjoyed our first Sports Day in quite some time!
Week ending Friday 1st July 2022
Phew, what a busy week; E.I.S. on Monday and Parent afternoon on Wednesday. Our children have a lovely time creating Inspirational pieces of Art with their adults.
E.I.S Federation Sports Event
The children enjoyed every minute at E.I.S. on Monday. They had a go at lots of different sports and even got to hold a real Bronze Olympic Medal belonging to Sarah Stevenson, Taekwondo World Champion in 2001 and Olympic medallist in Bejing 2008.
Week ending Friday 24th June 2022
Surprise Afternoon
Birds of Prey
The children loved their surprise afternoon with a fantastic Birds of Prey exhibition.
Saint Pius Evacuation Day
Year 5 had a fantastic day at St Pius on Tuesday - it was an Evacuation Day. Their lessons were all around the theme of Evacuation and World War 2. The children were amazing, they answered questions, shared opinions and their behaviour was exemplary. In fact, the children had worked so hard that at the end of the day, they were all given a ration of chocolate!
A Warden visited and sounded the siren - we all had to take cover under the tables!
How to spend your play time on a grassy bank?
Week ending Friday 17th June 2022
Welcome back after a much deserved two week break.
In Art this week, the children have had their first experience of using "Brush", essentially coloured inks. They absolutely loved creating pages which they will use for Art Journalling. They also made background pages in preparation for Parent's afternoon on Wednesday June 29th.
P.E. Stars
This week's Stars in P.E. showed determination and a positive growth mindset in their cricket lesson. Well done!
Playtime
Tuesday break time is Class 4's turn in the Buddy Barn, a place where they can sit and chat or read the comics. Here are some of our children having a relaxing playtime.
