Week 8 - week beginning 21st October 2024
It's been a busy week in Class 2! We've been learning how to represent two digit numbers with concrete apparatus in maths; we've learnt about the Mary Rose - King Henry 8th's favourite ship - in history; and we led the school's Harvest Assembly!
We've come to the end of a very full and long half term and we are all looking forward to our week off. Have a lovely half-term break and we'll look forward to seeing you after the holiday.
Week 7 - week beginning 14th October 2024
We have loved dressing up today for our Times Table Rock Stars day.
For many of our class, this is their first experience on TTRS and we have learnt how to log on and then choose our avatar.
Most of the children have then used Jamming Mode to practise their tables.
We will gradually build up the tables we are working on and also introduce division when appropriate.
Week 6 - week beginning 7th October 2024
Grace has one a colouring competition and went to the Town Hall to meet the Mayor of Barnsley!
In our grammar lessons we have been working on recognising the verb and the subject in clauses and sentences.
We have also started preparing for our Harvest Assembly on October 24th.
Week 5 - week beginning 30th September 2024
Class 2 have enjoyed learning different techniques to produce observational drawings.
Week 4 - week beginning 23rd September 2024
In our Whole Class Writing sessions, we are learning about different word types at the moment. This week we have been practising identifying common nouns and proper nouns.
Week 3 week beginning 16th September 2024
Another great week this week for class 2. We have been exploring various techniques in art and produced some fantastic collaborative art work.
In PE we have really mastered our skipping skills and are looking forward to perfecting these in our other fitness sessions.
Week 2 - week commencing 9th September
In Computing we have been learning about e-safety. We have thought about the different ways we stay safe and happy online. Have a look at some of our ideas.
Week 1- Week commencing 4th September
We have had a busy few days back and the children are quickly settling into the new routines. We have started this term's history topic on Henry 8th and have been asking why someone becomes a monarch and what are the qualities of a good monarch.
In music, we have listened to and appraised The Wellerman, which the children have loved!
