On Monday Professor Hydrogen Peroxide visited school and Class 4 loved his demonstrations of science experiments!
Here is a brave volunteer helping the demonstration that fire needs fuel, heat and oxygen to burn.
To make an explosion, fuel, heat, gas (oxygen) and pressure is needed. Professor Hydrogen peroxide made an explosion in a Hot Chocolate tin.
An explosion with water and Vitamin C tablets. The gas produced by the tablets builds the pressure in the cannister until it explodes.
Class 4 proving that gravity is an extremely strong force...they can't escape it.

This week the children have been practicing playing virtual glockenspiels and reading music.

Petting Zoo
On Thursday we had some very exciting visitors... Farmer Ian brought some great animals too meet us and we had a great time.
MacMillan Coffee Afternoon
Class 4 and the choir had a great time singing for the parents at the Macmillan coffee afternoon.
Music
We have been working on making our own versions of this terms song 'Bringing us Together' this is the finished version. Watch out for us on Britain's Got Talent!
PE Lessons
In today's lesson we worked on 3 different passes;
chest, bounce and overarm passes whilst continuing to use protective dribbling. We progressed onto working in small groups with attackers and defenders.

Another lovely week in class 4! Look at what we have been up to...
Music
We have been adding some percussion to our Bringing us Together song using virtual Glockenspiels. We have learnt to play 2 different parts of the song.
Science
This week the children have been investigating how reflective different materials are. They used their findings to find the best material for a new school book bag.

Class 4 have had another awesome week. They are such a hardworking and conscientious class with lovely manners.
Reading Morning
This morning we had our first parents reading morning of the year. It was so lovely to see so many parents in the classroom this morning, I know that the children really enjoyed it.
PE
They all enjoyed their first P.E. lesson with Mr. Burgin, Coach from Active Fusion. They warmed up with a game of Scarecrow Tig and went on to work on basketball skills, primarily protective dribbling.

Week Commencing 5/09/2022
What a great first week we have had! Getting to know the children who have all come in with excellent attitudes to being back at school. They have all tried really hard and have been so kind and polite to one another as well as ourselves. We are really looking forward to a great year!
Music
This half term the children are being transported back to the 1970s to learn all about Disco music. We have had a fabulous start to the topic as the children have learnt and appraised the song 'Bringing us Together' as you can see they have really enjoyed it!
Tributes to the Queen
Following the sad news last night the children have spent time today reflecting on the Queen, her fantastic achievements and the wonderful person she is. The children wrote their own prayers in her honour.
