Week 5
In our science lesson this week we have been learning about trees. We have learnt key features of trees: roots, trunk, bark, branches, leaves. We have learnt that some tree lose their leaves in the winter, whilst others are evergreen. We went on a tree hunt and looked at the trees we have around school.
Week 4
Class 1 have had a very busy week this week! We have been learning our number bonds to 10 in our Maths lessons this week. Lots of our children have been exploring making 10 with the numicon in small groups.
In our art lesson this week we created some collaborative artwork. We all worked together to create an ocean picture. We use lots of different mark making materials to create our art!
Week 3
In our art lesson this week we have been exploring lines. We learnt about the art Bridget Riley and looked at some of her work. We were amazed by her artwork - optical illusions! We were eager to explore lines ourselves and make our own artwork!
Week 2
Our story of the week this week is 'The Rainbow Fish'. Class 1 have loved listening to this story everyday. We have learnt some favourite phrases as well as some interesting words.
Our favourite phrases are:
'Not just an ordinary fish, but the most beautiful fish in the entire ocean'.
'Who do you think you are?'
'I have been waiting for you'.
'Give away my scales. My beautiful shining scales? Never.'

Week 1
Welcome back Class 1. We hope you have had a lovely Christmas break. Our Class 1 children this week have been settling back into our routine. We have been exploring our new provision and fine motor challenges this week! We have enjoyed revisiting some of our favourite stories.
