Week 6

Holy Week: Our Palm Sunday Assembly

Well done Class 2 on participating in Holy Week this week and showing excellent knowledge of the Easter story and a great level of respect.

Class 2 shared our own Palm Sunday assembly to begin our school's Holy Week. Everyone did a fantastic job, singing songs on this stage of the Easter story, sharing stories from the Bible and dramas to share the events of Palm Sunday with all St Helen's pupils.

Then, on Tuesday we participated in Stations of the Cross around school.

We have also had the opportunity to listen to other classes assemblies on Spy Wednesday and Good Friday.

Well done Class 2 on your hard work and great attitudes this week.

Have a wonderful Easter holiday!

Week 4

Collective Worship in Class 2

This week, Class 2 continued to complete our weekly Collective Worship.

A group of children came to the front, we gathered together, shared a passage from the Bible, responded by placing a handprint in paint on our group artwork to remember our collective prayer and we spoke about how we can go out and share God's message.

Well done Class 2 for being respectful and taking part beautifully in our Class Collective Worship.

Week 3

Today, Class 2 celebrated World Book Day with St Helen's School. We took part in a school costume parade, listened to teacher's favourite children's books in the hall and then, we went back to Class 2 where there was a character crime scene!

We worked as a class from the crime scene and clues left which storybook character had visited Class 2.

Also, we got the opportunity to read alongside a peer from Class 4.

Class 2 created our own guess the book artwork, we did a live lesson on how to draw the BFG with Quentin Blake and we created book reviews on books we have recently explored in class.

Well done Class 2 on a fantastic World Book Day!

Week 2

Literacy: The Highway Rat Police Interviews

This week we started our new Literacy unit of work on Character Descriptions based on the text

The Highway Rat.

We have explored our story which included a task pretending to be the characters and staging a police interview. During the session we pretended the Highway Rat was missing and we described him to the police alongside recalling what happened in our story and explaining it verbally.

Well done Class 2 on making a great start to our new writing unit!

Week 1

Computing: Machine Learning

Welcome back to Class 2 after our half-term holiday!

Class 2 have returned back to school ready to learn and have started some brilliant new topics.

We have continued with our Kapow Computing sessions, as you can see in the photos above!

This Thursday, Class 2 had a brilliant time using the laptops in our computing session. We used Google Quick Draw to expand our knowledge of algorithms and we created Building Block Algorithms on a whiteboard for our partner to follow.

What a fantastic week it's been!
