Week 5 - Week Commencing 5th February 2024

In our whole class writing sessions we have been learning all about recounts, using the text 'Timmy's Adventure' to inspire our writing. We are going to take on the role of a child caught up in the events of the Great Fire of London.

On Monday, we worked in small groups to carry out a drama activity. We were all given a key event from the Great Fire and had to come up with a freeze frame to show what was happening. On Tuesday we then used our pictures to create a timeline of the key events. We will then use this as a plan to help us to write our own recounts in the form of a diary entry.

Week 4 - Week Commencing 29th January 2024

In Art this week we continued our work on drawing techniques to give a 3D effect. We experimented with a range of media to create texture and tone when drawing planets to give them a 3D effect. We really loved exploring the different planets and enjoyed looking closely at the different patterns, textures and colours on each of the planets. 

Week 3 - Week Commencing 22nd January 2024

This week we have started learning about multiplication and division in maths.

We have been practising making equal groups and writing the repeated addition. 

Week 2 - Week Commencing 15th January 2024

This term we have begun reading lessons to develop our fluency. Here are some of us practising "Choral Reading" using a text about insects.

Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all!  

Just a quick memo, our new PE day is Tuesday so can we please ensure that all children have their PE kit in school on this day. Thank you! 

We kick started 2024 with an exciting art afternoon where we used our printing skills to create bright, repeating patterns. We had to consider which shapes and colours to use to make our own design ideas come to life. We really enjoyed showcasing our art and design skills!
