Week 8
Sport stars of the week.
We've had a fantastic final week to the half term:
Parent's afternoon when the children made Tutankhamun's tomb with their parent/grandparent.
In science we all became "mummifiers", as we investigate how to mummify a tomato. We made our "natron" with salt and baking soda and can't wait to see the results after 2 weeks.
Week 7
Sport stars of the week.
Week 6
Sport stars of the week.
week 5
This week some of the children have been working hard at home, following up their learning to produce work to add to our displays.
Week 4
Class 4's P.E. skills are coming along fantastically well! This week we worked on defending skills, first one defender against 3 attackers to try to defend a larger space. Then, equal numbers of defenders to attackers to work on man-to-man marking.
Week 3
This week the children have enjoyed looking in the Atlas and finding out about Egypt. Some of them have brought in pictures and keepsakes from relative's travels to Egypt. Thank you all, this makes our learning so much more interesting and relevant.
Week 2
In Literacy we have been learning how to research and make effective notes:
* scanning and skimming
* highlighting key information/words and phrases
* writing the key words
* forming sentences of our own using our notes - key words.
Here are some photos of some of the work we have been doing.
Week 1
The year has started with great enthusiasm and hard work. Well done to the children for settling so quickly and making such a good first impression!
Everyone is excited about our Topic and learning about ancient Egypt.
