Class Plans Friday 15th January

A message to all children and parents from Class 5.

Well, here we are at the end of our second week back! And what strange times!

The 'Fab 4'- Well done to Max, Billy, Sophie and Harriet for your efforts in class since coming back. You have all been truly wonderful and have kept Miss Thompson and myself busy working and laughing ! You have worked very hard in every lesson and have been so very well behaved. Those credits are stacking up!!!!! We look forward to seeing you all next week! (Although not one of you knew the answer to Mr Redfern's question- How many  months in the year have 28 days!!!!)

Home learning-Can I say a massive well done to all children and, of course, parents and family members at home for your efforts in trying your best to keep up with the Online Learning schedule for the class? It is a new world for all of us and both Miss Thompson and myself have been dazzled by how much we are now getting back and how hard you are working! At school we are working as hard as we can, with the great support of the admin. and leadership team in school, to address any issues you are reporting to us to make your Online Learning as beneficial  but as accessible as possible.

We have been looking at fractions this week, especially simplifying fractions. We are moving on to look at the relationship between fractions, decimals and percentages next. The online You Tube lessons that we have been watching at home and using at school help to make sure we are all learning at the same pace so please access them, even though they are not the same as learning face to face! And if you are watching one of the teachers on these fraction lessons and you are a little confused don't worry! Just by watching you will pick up new ideas and information and improve your learning. And you can always pause the clip and even go back. Wouldn't it be great if you could do that to your teacher in class?!!!!!

In Literacy we have been looking at War Horse and writing from different points of view. We will be concluding this next week with an end of fortnight assessment task.

In R.E. we have been looking at special books. Miss Thompson showed the 'Fab 4' some of her special books, which was lovely.

I would like to  say a massive thank you to Miss Thompson for the hard work and support she has give to me from day 1. I know I am very lucky to have such a wonderful, experienced and positive support as I begin at Sacred Heart (in such bizarre circumstances!) And I know all the boys and girls and parents know how lucky they are to have Miss Thompson as well!

Finally, please make sure you get a chance to get out and experience the snow, one of God's great wonders. The memories made from making snow angels, snowmen etc and experiencing the feel of real snow will last a life time!

Have a great weekend! From Mr Redfern
