Autumn Term 2

Week 7

What a wonderful final week to the term we have had. This week we watched Nursery’s fantastic Nativity and some wonderful singing by Key Stage 2.  We did our performance of “Mary’s Knitting”for school and then our families.

 Everyone loved it!

On Thursday we really enjoyed our Christmas party.  We played lots of games in the hall like musical statues and pass the parcel.  We had fun dancing and singing with all our friends in Class 2 and Nursery joined us too. Afterwards we had lots of fun completing our sponsored Santa Dash.  We dashed around the yard singing songs, playing with balloons and having a giggle.  Before we went home we enjoyed our very own party food.  It was a very busy morning but lots of fun.

We would like to thank you all for your support this term and wish you all a wonderful Christmas. We all look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

Week 6

During this second week in Advent we had our Christingle service. Every child made their own Christingle and learned about what each part represents. We have been busy making things for the Christmas Fair on Friday and rehearsing our nativity for next week. The children are working so hard and we can’t wait to perform it for all of our friends and families.

Week 5

This week we visited the library again. This time for Christmas stories, songs and crafts. We had a surprise visit from Santa! He thought that the children were so well behaved and polite and he gave them gifts which included a special, festive, red jumper!

The children have been planning what their “super vehicles” would look like and what they would need. On Wednesday it was our parent topic session and both grown ups and children worked really hard to make and paint their models. They really were super!

Week 4

Wow what a week! On Monday we went to the Pantomime- "Back in Time for Christmas". Oh yes we did! The children loved joining in with the songs and had a fun-filled afternoon thanks to "Churches Together". They were all very kindly given a goody bag too.

On Friday we had our "Nursery Rhyme Showcase" and the children were absolutely amazing. We were so proud of them all. We hope to buy lots of lovely new books with the sponsor money we raise. In the after noon we went out to do a traffic survey. The children made a tally of all the different types of vehicles that they saw.

Week 3

This week is World Nursery Rhyme week and we have been learning a rhyme-a-day plus lots more singing in preparation for our "Showcase" next week. On Monday it was  "Baa Baa Black Sheep". We sang a new version and know how to use Makaton too! On Tuesday it was "Down in The Jungle" which was a really funny song. We found out about jungle animals and rainforests. On Wednesday it was "Incy Wincy Spider" and we loved our "Dancing Spider" experiment! On Thursday for "Row row row your boat" we looked at lots of different kinds of boats and for Friday's rhyme- "2 Little Dickie Birds" we made bird feeders.

Week 2

For Remembrance Day we watched the BBC "Poppies" animation and then talked about why we wear poppies and why we have a two minute silence on the 11th November. We made our own poppies and thought about how brave so many soldiers were. Follow the link if you would like to watch it again and talk about it at home.

Week 1

A fabulous fireworks week this week 💥💥💥 We learned all about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Plot. We wrote about it and acted it out. Our Firework display looks fantastic. We also talked about the firework safety code and learnt a poem about why we have bonfire night- do you know the one?
