On Wednesday we joined the rest of the school for our Stations of the Cross assembly. It was a lovely experience for the children and they all took part in the prayers, singing and placing their cross on the big cross.
Many children made some fabulous Easter bonnets for our competition!
Have a very happy Easter :-)
Week 6
The children have made fabulous progress in P.E. this term showing their improved balancing skills and partner work. Mr.Johnson has been really pleased with everyone and has said how well behaved Class 1 children are and how well they can follow instructions.😃
Week 5
On Monday I showed the children some photos of my weekend in London- they were so excited and did some fantastic writing all about the landmarks I saw and how I stayed in a hotel and went for a cup of coffee😃 We have also enjoyed the story of "The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse" and written some lovely character descriptions of the mice. In Maths we have been learning to make different amounts using coins. This is something that you can do at home or when you go shopping- adding small amounts and looking at change.
Week 4
This week we have been learning lots about London and the Royal Family. The children have been captivated by London landmarks. We have made family trees, talked and written about the royal family, drawn, painted and built London landmarks and enjoyed our Class 1 Lego stations. I am off to London for the weekend and the children are very excited to find out about my trip on Monday. If anyone has any photos or souvenirs from London visits please bring them in to show Class 1😃
Week 3
Wow! What a week! Our trip to the Legoland discovery centre in Manchester was amazing!!! The children were all so excited and they made us very proud with their enthusiasm and exceptional behaviour. The whole class received a golden book certificate for their outstanding behaviour.
We have been busy turning our classroom into our own Lego discovery centre with Lego stations and challenges around the room. We even have our own Master Builder lanyards for the best models.
next week we will be continuing with Lego challenges and also looking at our family trees, the royal family and London.
Week 2
We have made our own planning books for our trip next week. We have been thinking about how we will get there and the things that we plan to do.
In literacy we have been learning letter names and alphabetical order.
in maths we have been using a number line to count backwards and see how this is taking away. We have also been investigating place value and making 2 digit numbers using tens and ones with cubes and straws.
We have been learning about how we pray and written our own prayers about our families.
Week 1
Welcome back to our second half term. We have had an amazingly exciting week! We had yummy fun tasting pancakes on Shrove Tuesday and then loved dressing up as our favourite book characters on World Book Day 😃
We have been thinking about Spring and looking carefully at daffodils🌼 We painted and did collages of them ready for our new Spring display. We are looking everywhere for signs of Spring.
