Summer 1

Week 6

We have talked about Friendship and how to be a good friend this week in our RE lessons. We joined with our Friends in Class 4 to make friendship bracelets for each other and for our other friends and familyheart

Week 5

We were lucky enough to have a visit from "Concerteenies" this week who came to perform the Musical story of "Mouse and Bear". It was wonderful to see all of the children joining in with this interactive performance. We have done lots of follow up activities including drawing to music.

In science we have investigated different materials which we hunted for around school and described how they all felt and what they might be used for.

In History we looked at a collection of old toys from Barnsley Museum and talked about how they are different from the toys we have today.

Week 4

This week we have enjoyed reading, listening to and watching Stick Man by Julia Donaldson. We have talked about how Stick Man might have felt when he was away from his family and how important our families are to us. Read Stick Man and talk about feelings together heartheart

Week 3

This week we have been preparing to celebrate the King's Coronation. We made crowns and had a special dinner which was fit for a king!

Week 2

Our History topic is all about how toys have changed. Lots of you brought in their favourite toys this week to show. We looked at how they are made and how they work. Some children have already talked to their parents and grandparents about what toys they used to have in the past.

We heard the story of Jesus' ascension and the coming of The Holy Spirit. This time of Pentecost is often symbolised by a dove or a flame. We made fire headbands to help tell the story of when the disciples received The Holy Spirit. We spoke in different languages like them and talked about how we can spread The Word of God's love for Jesus.

Week 1

We have welcomed a full class of children back in Class 1 this week! Please keep up this attendance as we have finally won the weekly attendance award which made us very happy as we get to keep the new attendance bear in Class 1 for a whole week smileyheart

In maths we have been learning about measuring length and height. The children have used mathematical language when solving problems, building houses and using different units of measure.

we had our first outdoor PE lesson this week with Mr Johnson in glorious sunshine. The children loved it and were all super listeners- well done!

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in a diverse and ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
