Welcome to Class 4
Class 4 is a mixed class of both year 4 and year 5 pupils. We are a busy class of eager learners and our classroom is always buzzing with new and exciting activities and challenges.
Class 4 staff team:

What does your child need every day?
Homework will go out every Wednesday and is expected to be returned on the following Monday. Homework will include times tables practice using TTRS, 20 minutes reading each day, a Literacy challenge and spellings.

Long Term Plan
Throughout the year, Class 4 will explore and experience an array of texts, skills, investigations and research to further children's knowledge and understanding across the curriculum. The documents below share current planning information for the 2024/2025 academic year.
Medium Term Plan
Throughout this half term, children will explore VIPERS skills in guided reading when exploring varying texts weekly.
In literacy, children will explore varying writing styles such as persuasive writing and a setting description. Children will further explore sentence structure, along with punctuation and grammar.
In maths, children will explore decimals, time, statistics and shape.
In science, children will continue to learn about rocks. We will explore rock types, properties, fossil formation and much more.
In religious education, children will learn about reconciliation and God's people. Children will explore scripture and the meaning within texts from varying perspectives.
In geography, children will explore local history and local fieldwork. Children will explore coordinates and references, along with using varying platforms to explore maps, plans, sketches and much more.
In design and technology, children will look at electrical systems (specifically torches). Children will learn about electrical items, along with analysing and evaluating them, before making their very own torch.
In ICT, children will learn about online safety and coding.
In physical education, children will engage in cricket and athletics. .
In music, children will have a wonderful external music teacher, exploring rhythm, varying beats and differing notes.
