Week 5
This week we have had our Celebration Assemblies. It was lovely to see parents and carers come to watch their children perform. We sang some wonderful songs and looked back at photographs from throughout the year. We also had the chance to take photographs and spend some time with our friends. Thank you to everyone who came to watch their child and a big well done to all of our nursery children!
Week 4 - Supertato!
This week we have been reading the story 'Supertato' by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. The children have loved the story and quickly took the theme of superheroes into their play. We have created our very own super hero veg and some of us even made evil veg! We then used our phonics skills to talk and write about what we wanted our super (or evil) veg to say. We placed them around our outdoor area depending on what we wanted our veg to be doing. Some of our superhero veg could fly, some had a den and some could climb! It has been brilliant to our nursery children flourish with their phonics skills and for them to apply these skills to their early writing.
Week 4 - Sports Day!
This week our nursery children had their sports day. We have been practicing all term! The Foundation Stage Team were so proud of our nursery children on sports day. Everyone had a go at completing all the races and we all won a medal. It was wonderful to see parents and carers come and support their child and join in with the sporty activities!
Week 3
This week it was morning nursery's turn to go to Wigfield Farm. It was a rainy day so we had to wear our wellies and our waterproofs. However, the rain did not spoil our fun! We got to see lots of different animals and had the chance to feed the goats, sheep and some of us were brave enough to feed the cow - it had a very slimy tongue! We saw lots of piglets, lambs and one calf who was born last week!
After we had washed our hands and eaten our snack we met the bearded dragon, Betty, who came to our nursery last term to meet us! We also met a fluffy rabbit who came hopping around our circle and sniffed at our feet!
We had a wonderful time and the experience will stay with the children for a long time!
Week 2
Our afternoon Nursery went to the farm this week! We had a wonderful time. We saw lots of farm animals, saw the farmer using his tractor in the field and even got to stroke rabbits and reptiles. We got to feed the goats and saw some lambs. There were big highland cattle in the fields and we saw two very big shire horses. A tortoise came to meet us and some of us were brave enough to stoke the big snake!
All the children had a fabulous time and so did our staff!
Thank you you to parents for being supportive of this trip, it was a fantastic learning opportunity for our Nursery children.
We we will be returning next week with the afternoon children!
