Hi Class 2,

I hope you have had a lovely weekend in the sunshine! laugh

Can you believe this week is the final week of school and home learning before the summer holidays?

It has been very different for us all over the last few months but, we have made it to the holiday. I hope you all know how proud me and St Helen's School is of you for all the hard work you have done at home.

I have really missed you all at school and can't wait to see your smiling faces in September. I will really look forward to seeing you then!

This week, our home learning includes Classroom Secrets home learning packs as well as extra phonics sheets and creative afternoon activities. Remember: If you are a Year 2 and want to have a go at the phonics sheets as well as your learning, please do!

There are links to Bitesize and Maths songs to help you with your worksheets like last week's learning.

I have tried to make your afternoon activities as fun as possible and have included the opportunity to make your own sports day activities.

I am so disappointed we haven't had the opportunity to have a sports day and complete lots of fun things together but, we will have so much fun when you return to school! I know some of you will be in Class 3 but, I will keep peeking in and catching up with you when I can and Mrs Read will have lots of fun planned I'm sure!

Have a wonderful summer holiday Class 2 and stay safe smileyheart

Love and virtual hugs,

Miss Garratt xxx

Hi Class 2,

I hope you are having a lovely bank holiday weekend and are enjoying the beautiful sunshine!

This week and next are our half-term holiday so take a break from school work and have a lovely time at home; taking lovely walks with your family around your local area, doing things you enjoy and spend some time in the sun! (Remember to wear sun cream if it gets hot!)

I have been doing yoga in a morning the past week and then, I have been doing my work for school in the garden with the company of a lovely family of black birds I have made friends with!

As there seem to be so many birds around my local area and hopefully yours too at the minute, I thought a lovely thing for you to do, if you would like a creative task during the holiday, would be to make a bird house or feeder.

You could make it like the one in the photo below, with craft materials and a milk carton, or be creative and make it out of anything you can find!

Have a lovely break this week and next Class 2!

Stay safe and have fun!

This week you can choose whether you complete the home learning project

which is 'Environment' and it includes looking at recycling, the weather and plants

See this link to explore our project:

Week 5 Learning Project KS1

...or this week you can use the Government's new Oak National Academy which went online yesterday, providing video lessons and activities for home learning.

On the Oak National Academy, select your year group and do the Maths, Literacy and foundation lessons for this week - they are calling this week, "Week 1". I would like all of you to do the Year 1 Foundation lesson which is 'What do you know about the weather' - similar to the learning project.

I think you'll enjoy the video lessons and activities. Just imagine all the millions of other children doing the same work as you!! There are only 3 lessons for each day so you'll still have plenty of free time.
