Summer Term 2

Week 5

Celebrate Good Times!

After a couple of weeks practise we finally did our celebration assembly today and the children gave fantastic performances!  Thank you to all who came- we really appreciate it and hope you enjoyed it as much as we did :)

Week 4

Sports Day!

After lots of practise we held our nursery sports day on Wednesday and it couldn't have gone better!  The children all tried so hard and did fantastic with every race.  It was lovely to see so many family and friends come to cheer us on and we want to say a big thank you for that.  Also, a special mention to the grown ups who took part in the parent race- thank you!

Week 3

Fitness, Fun and the Farm

On Monday the rest of the school when on a visit to the EIS in Sheffield so we decided to have our own fitness fun day in nursery. We did a ‘wake up and shake up’ dance to get warmed up before we went to get busy making our healthy snack. We chopped up apples, strawberries, cucumber and red pepper, being very careful using the knives. We also made some banana smoothie by blending chopped bananas with milk- this was delicious! We then made a giant bar chart of our favourite fruits (strawberries were the clear winner) before practising our races for sports day.

On Wednesday we went on our trip to Wigfield Farm. It was brilliant! We saw lots of different animals including cows, horses, sheep, goats and pigs, and we even got to feed some! It tickled when they ate the feed of our hands! In one barn there were some two week old rabbits and we were allowed to stroke one of them with our fingers. We were so gentle. Here are some of the photos we took…

Week 2

We're All Going on Our Summer Holidays!

On Monday we were really surprised to find Michael Monkey with a suitcase. We decided that he must be getting ready to go on holiday- lucky Michael! Then we found that Michael had left us a note asking us to help him sort through his suitcase as he had packed it ready for his holiday to the seaside, but he wasn't sure that he had got everything right. We set to it straight away and decided that Michael needed the sun cream, sun hat, ball, fishing net, swim suit and sandals, but he didn't need the jumper, fluffy slippers, pair of scissors or pine cone. We can't wait to find out what Michael gets up to on his holiday!

Week 1

You've Got a Friend in Me!

Welcome back! We hope you have had a lovely half term- the children certainly have and they couldn't wait to tell us all about what they had been up to!  It was lovely to hear how much fun they have had whether they had been away somewhere or stayed at home.

This week we have been busy making cards to celebrate Father's Day. The children tried really hard and are very excited to surprise their dads, or another person they love, on Sunday.

On Friday, as part of the school's current Reconciliation topic in RE, we talked about how to be a good friend.  The children decided that we need to be kind, to share and to help someone if they are hurt or upset.  We know that pushing, hitting or saying nasty things isn't part of being a friend as it makes people feel sad.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
