Week 6:
This week Class 5 their parent afternoon. They showed everything they had learnt about the process of mummification, creating mummies from clay with their very own sarcophagi and creating canonic jars from mod rock and clay to contain the organs. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support us.
Week 6:
This week Class 5 have been creating simple algorithms on purple mash to create a simple splatty bug game. Scan the QR code to play the game we created.
Week 4:
This week we have started using instruments as part of music lessons, using glockenspiels to play a percussive beat as backing to Livin' on a Prayer. We also explored different notes on the glockenspiel and practised repeating back a pattern using the notes G A B.
We have also been creating stained glass windows based on the story of The Prodigal Son, which represented unconditional love and reconcilliation.
Week 3:
This week we went to St Pius for our Y6 Taster Day. We took part in Geography, Maths & Englsih lessons and got a really good feel for what secondary school might be like.
Week 2:
This week we have been learning about the solar system in science and the order of the planets and interesting facts about them. In computing we have learnt about online safety and created games which involved online danger icons. In music we have continued to learn about classic rock songs and hae been learning different parts of the song Livin on a prayer.
Week 1:
This week we have made a wonderful start to lives as Year 6's. We began our new art topic by exploring our sketchbooks and the different mediums we can use to be creative. We have also begun to explore classic rock in our music unit and started to learn about the ancient Egyptians in history.
