Brilliant performance for the whole school to demonstrate your achievements in dance. Well done for creating, learning and performing a street dance routine in small groups and as part of the whole class. Well done Class 4!
What an action packed week this week has been, The year 5 children have had talks with SY Police about safety and knife crime as well as understanding what child exploitation is, how it occurs, its signs and how to stay safe from it. Meanwhile, in literacy, the children have read the children's story of Hamlet, listened to his 'dagger' soliloquy, watched the scene of the soliloquy to make comparisons between listening to it and watching it be performed, before having a go at writing a simple one for themselves. Next week, the children will then write one as their avatar character from their fantasy narrative as they travel through Alchemy Island. Finally, the children have also worked incredibly in PE with Mr Johnson - check out the videos below.
Week 4 - Dance
Well done to Class 4 today who managed to create a dance using collaborative team work and from a specific shape starting position. Children were able to communicate effectively and practice their moves in order to put a section of a dance together as a class. Brilliant work!
This week we continued to develop our PE and DT skills by visiting St Pius Catholic High School. Children took part in a range of activities aimed to develop there design and making skills as well as their coordination and team work skills. Well done Class 4!
This week the children began their new topic in PE of gymnastics. They worked really hard with the warm up games of rock, paper scissors. They then worked on developing coordination and balance. Finally, children have continued to develop their understanding of factors and square numbers before moving on to short division using the bus stop method. Well done Class 4!
Brilliant start to Class 4's new dance topic. The children played listening games to warm up, followed by 'all aboard the funky train' in which different children had to coordinate dance moves in a train to develop rhythm and movement skills.
We then finished with Guess Who game to guess the name of a song through movement. Well done Class 4!
