We have been looking at lots of different musical instruments.
We looked at how a rainstick is made and what is inside it.
We have designed our own rainsticks and started to make them.

Beat, Band and Boogie!
This week we have had a visitor in school. Callum came in to teach us some percussion rhythms and play the bongo drums and piano for us. We joined in with the rhythms and played some instruments.
Callum sang some fantastic songs for us while he played the piano and then we had a chance to ask questions.
A Musical Treat!
This term our topic is Beat, Band and Boogie!
We are learning about:
- Music and different styles of music.
- Instruments and how to play them.
- Making our own instruments.
- Beats and rhythms.
- different styles of dance.
We will be making lots of noise inside and outside and trying out lots of instruments. We have a visitor coming into school to play instruments for us and teach us some songs with percussion.
We are also going to be experimenting with our voices and learning new songs to sing in rounds.
We will finish our topic with an afternoon of fun for parents to get involved with your children's learning.
