Week 7

To help with our understanding and practice on place value as a starter activity this week we played a place value game. We each took turns to role a dice and place the number we rolled onto our place value grid wherever we wanted. Some times we had to get the biggest number on the table sometimes we had to get the smallest. It allowed us to think about the actual value of the digits and where they are found.

Week 6

This week we were very lucky that we were able to take part in National space day which linked with our space science topic and watch a special lesson which was viewed by thousands of schools across the country. It looked at how planets are made, how the moon was made as well as looking at the role of female scientists and engineers in the upcoming space projects. We saw the mars rover that was being developed in England and had a go at creating our own.

Week 5 (W/C 27.09.21)

This week class 5 have been working hard on their Spanish phrases. Look at the concentration on their faces when ordering and pairing these phrases.

Week 4 (W/C 20.09.21)

Class 5 had a very special visit this week. Our first time out of school in a long time. We spent the whole day at St. Pius to see what a day at a high school would be like for us next year. 

The class were fantastic representatives for the school and did us all proud. Below is a few pictures of us during the music lesson. Please check the school facebook page for two budding musicians who were brave enough to perform Humpty Dumpty on the keyboard to the whole class.

Week 2 (W/C 06.09.21)

Class 5 have made such a fantastic return to school. We had an excellent start last week and tried our best with our SAT's tests and I was so proud at the effort that was put in.

This week we have started our first maths topic of the year. Look at the concentration on our faces as we are trying to work out the digit value of each number on our place value grid.
