Week 6 w.b 11/12

This week we were very lucky to be able to invite our adults into school to help us with our D and T projects for this half term. We worked really well to help build our 5 structures that we are placing in our perfect playgrounds. Some of woodwork and inventiveness to create these structures was fantastic. We want to thank all grown ups for taking time out of their busy days at a very busy time of the year for coming and spending the afternoon with us.

Week 4 w.b 27/11/23

Class 5 took part this week in the Barnsley Hospice Elf run. We braved the cold weather to run 10 laps of our field to help raise funds for a worthy charity and organisation in Barnsley Hospice.

Week 3 w.b 20th November

This week we have been very lucky to be asked to take part in an experiment to help in the training of our favourite dog Moose. It was the most difficult thing to do but we had to take part in a lesson but ignore Moose in the room to help Moose get used to settling and working in a classroom environment. Moose was fantastic during this and we got our Moose cuddles at the end of both sessions.

We have begun our D and T project this week. We looked at how to use tools safely and had a chance to use lots of different pieces of equipment to build our first piece of apparatus for our playgrounds. We can't wait for parents to come in to help us finish our playgrounds.

Week 2 w.b 13/11/23

Last Friday Class 5 were very privileged to lead St. Helen's remembrance assembly. They did a fantastic job at honouring the fallen and leading such a poignant and respectful assembly.

Week 1 w.b 6/11

This week class 5 were lucky enough to have a trip to visit the Lifewise Centre in Hellaby to take part in Crucial Crew. We were able to take part in a lot of scenarios organised by the police, ambulance service, safer roads, firefighters and local bus services to understand how to keep ourselves safe.
