In our school, we share “Virtues to Live By.”
These enable our pupils to explore each virtue over a three week period to improve our school community’s virtue literacy and to deepen understanding and appreciation of the essential role the virtues play in the education of the whole person towards human flourishing.
The virtues chosen are common across cultures and faiths, but are sourced from the Christian tradition.
The chosen virtues are linked to the academic year:
Our in class Child Led Collective Worship Liturgies centre around the 3-weekly virtue.
Each week, in our Gospel Assembly, our children are reminded of the virtue we are focussing on, and we discuss the ways they are or have applied it.
On a Friday, during our Golden Book Liturgy, one child receives a certificate for demonstrating the focus virtue.
