Notes for Parents

PE- Please can you ensure your child brings their PE kit every Monday and leaves it in school until Friday.

  • Tuesday and Thursday are our usual PE days but this may change due to the weather and other circumstances which is why we ask for PE kits to be in school all week.

Reading Books- Your child now has a reading book and reading diary in their book bags. This is to be brought to school every day so we can listen to your child read. We hope that you will support us at home with reading as this really does help your child to become fluent and confident readers. We aim for the children to read a minimum of three times a week at home, more would be wonderful! The children are rewarded with extra credits if this is recorded in their diary and they read often. If your child needs their book changed, please remind your child to put it in the blue box as soon as they come to school. We will also be changing books when we can see in their diary they have completed it.

Homework- Each week your child will have a homework task. It will alternate between an online activity on Purple Mash and a written activity in books. Please ensure books are handed in the Monday after they are given out. Homework tasks are chosen to develop skills in specific areas of the curriculum.

Spellings

These will be given out each week. Your child has the opportunity to practice them as soon as they come into school. We usually test these each Friday and ensure children are using them correctly in their written work throughout the week. We have a spelling folder on the previous page which will be updated with spellings if you would like to practice them at home.

One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in an ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
