Spring Term 1

Week 3 (WC 23.1.23)

In art this week the class have been learning how to monoprint, which is a form of printing whereby the image can be used again and again. Children had to compose and create a clear print of a house by etching into a polystyrene plate, we think they look fantastic! In science we have been continuing our topic about animals and their habitats, we learnt how to classify animals.

Week 2 (WC 16.1.23)

In PE this week we have be working on our balancing skills and core body tension. We learnt that balancing skills are key not only to sports, but also to everyday movements such as reaching, twisting, bending down, sitting and walking. With a partner we then created 1,2,3 and 4 point balances. Take a look at the photos below. In art the children are enjoying and developing their skills further, they have been inspired by the work of 'Hundertwasser', where they have  added vibrant colours to an image of a house. Well done Class 3!

Week 1 (WC 9.1.23)

Welcome back Class 3, we hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Everyone has made a great start to 2023. We have been working hard this week in literacy looking at describing a setting from our new book 'Escape from Pompeii'. In maths our focus has been perimeter for the year 4’s and equal grouping for the year 3’s. To start our history topic off we have had a virtual reality visit all the way from ancient Rome! We got to see what Rome was like 2000 years ago. In PE we have started a new topic, gymnastics which everyone is enjoying.
