St Michael And All Angels Catholic Primary School

Class 1

Welcome to Class 1

We are a very busy class of FS2 and Year 1 children who love to learn, and our classroom is always buzzing with fun activities and exciting new challenges. The staff who work in our class on a regular basis are Mrs Tordoff, Mrs Cowling, Miss Hughes, Mrs Warris and Mrs Moore.

Parents/Carers can support us by ensuring that we are all ready

for each school day.

What does your child need?

  • Full and correct school uniform - please see the school uniform policy below.
  • Full and correct PE kit - Please see the school uniform policy below for the correct PE kit. We do PE every Friday and we expect children to be able to change independently for PE lessons. Earrings must not be worn to school on PE days.
  • Book bag - remember to check it every night for letters and put it with the school shoes so you won't forget it! Book bags need to be in school every day.
  • Reading Book - when your child is ready, they will have a reading book to read at home and it will be changed on a regular basis by their RWI teacher.
  • Reading Diary - your child will be rewarded with credits for reading at home 5 times a week - but only if it is recorded in their reading diary.
  • Homework - a selection of homework tasks will be set each half-term. Credits will be awarded for homework being completed each week.
  • Water Bottle - must only contain still water and needs to be brought to school every day. Please not that we are only able to provide cups for water at lunch-time.
  • Weather appropriate clothing -  We have a lovely outdoor learning area which we use every day. Please ensure your child is wearing appropriate outer clothing and shoes every day. A sunhat will be required during hot weather and sun-cream applied before school. Children may only wear boots/wellington boots to school if they bring their school shoes and are able to change into them independently.
  • Read, Write Inc. QR codes - Each week, children will receive QR codes for the sounds they are learning in their RWI lessons. Scan the QR code with your phone or tablet camera and it will take you to additional games and home learning to support your child with their reading.

You can find a lot more information in the Parents section of this website, and also on our school Facebook page.

Thank you for continuing to support your child with their education. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
