Summer Term 1

Week 7

 

Class 3 you have made it! Well done for such a fantastic term! Enjoy what ever you going to be doing with your 2 weeks off.

 

This week,  children have explored a text called Escape the Fire this text is a narrative.

Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.

 

In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have started to identify features of a narrative and then they were introduced to the lighthouse as this is the story class 3 will be retelling. 

 

In RE Class 3, have been learning about the Pentecost . Children learnt about The coming of the holy spirit. Class 3 were able to answer questions about what gift/energy did go give them and what gift would you like from god. The whole class then wrote a prayer about the holy spirit.

 

In Maths class 3, have been learning about bar charts and line graphs. Class 3 have found this very enjoyable and were sometimes able to complete 2 lessons in 1. 

 

 

In PE, children were able to put all the techniques and rules they have learnt over the last few wee in a game of rounders.

Week 6 

 

This week,  children have explored a non-fiction text about how to build a Tin Man.

Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.

 

In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have started to write up instructions on how to build a round house. On Friday, they wrote up there final piece of writing as next week we are moving on to writing a narrative.  

 

In RE Class 3, have been learning about the Pentecost . Children learnt about The coming of the holy spirit. They created a pin wheel and highlighted energy words from the passage and wrote them on there colourful pin wheels. 

 

In Art this week, children have been learning about Prehistoric Art and to understand how prehistoric men made art. Class 3 used mod rock to create a stone wall. Once the mod rock set, the children used there own hand prints to recreate cave man art. 

 

In PE, children have been introduced to rounders and learnt the correct rules and techniques this will then be used in game like situations.

Week 5

 

This week, children have explored a non-fiction text about how to become a roman centurion. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.

 

In Literacy this week, children have been focusing on instructions and how to write them in chronological order.

 

In RE Class 3, have been learning about lent. Children learnt about a new way of living. Children in class 3 answered many questions and wrote about what makes a generous heart.  

 

In Art this week, children have been learning about Prehistoric Art and to understand how prehistoric men made art. Class 3 used mod rock to create a stone wall. Once the mod rock set, the children used paints with natural materials and painted there native British animal on there stone wall. 

 

In Maths class 3, have been focusing on time and how to tell the time to the minute.

Week 4

 

Class 3 have had assessment week this week and they have all done a fantastic job. 

 

In Math's Class 3, have been learning about how many hours are there in a day and also how many days are there in a year. 

 

In RE Class 3, crafted and designed their very own Jesus has risen pictures. 

 

In PE children began to focus the rules and different techniques of rounders.

 

In Literacy Class 3 will be focusing on instructions. Class 3, will write up instructions about how to build a roman house.

Week 3

 

This week, children have explored a fiction text about a persuasive leaflet to visit Italy. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.

 

In Literacy this week, children have been focusing on persuasive leaflets. Class 3 have created there very own persuasive leaflet with some incredible  discounts persuading you to visit Germany.

 

In RE Class 3, have been learning about lent. Children learnt about a new way of living. Children in class 3 answered many questions and wrote about what makes a generous heart. 

 

In Maths class 3, have just finished capacity and now we are focusing on time.

 

In Art this week, children have been learning about Prehistoric Art and to understand how prehistoric men made art. Class 3 experimented with the pigments in natural products for example, grass, soil, flowers and moss to try and make different colors.

Week 2

 

This week, children have explored a fiction text about a persuasive leaflet to visit Norway. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.

 

In Literacy this week, children have been focusing on persuasive leaflets. Class 3 worked in pairs to create an introduction about visiting Germany as this is what there persuasive leaflet will be about. Towards the end of the week class 3 began to write there 1st paragraph about a famous landmark in Germany the Brandenburg gate.

 

In RE Class 3, have been learning about lent. Children learnt about a new way of living. Children in class 3 answered many questions and wrote about what makes a generous heart. 

 

In Maths year 3, have been focusing on measuring capacity and year 4 having been rounding decimals. 

 

In Art this week, children have been learning about Prehistoric Art and to understand how prehistoric men made art. Class 3 had the enlarge there drawings from last week and use a different type of medium

Week 1 

 

This week, children have explored a fiction text about a persuasive leaflet to visit France. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.

 

In Literacy this week, children have been focusing on persuasive leaflets. Class 3 identified key features of a persuasive leaflet and worked together to create a paragraph about persuading MR Davies to go to Meadowhall. 

 

In PE this week, children have been introduced to tennis. Children have learnt how to hold a racket and how to keep control of the tennis ball when using the racket.

 

In Art this week, children have been learning about Prehistoric Art and to understand how prehistoric men made art. Class 3 drew the outline shapes of native British animals.
