Week 5
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday were transitions days for the children. All the children seemed to enjoy their time in their new classrooms and were very excited to tell Mr Davies how they got on.
The new class 3 children did research about a famous french artist called Claude Monet. Class 3 used various techniques when using paints and water colours, they recreated a very famous painting of a bridge but only using their finger tips to do it. Class 3, also wrote a story based on a book we read in class called where is the frog?
On Thursday children have explored a non fiction text about a very famous paralympian called Ellie Simmonds . Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.
In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have been introduced to a biography and they will be creating a biography about Tom Fletcher. Class 3 have started to write their biography about Tom Fletcher.
In Maths class 3 have started to learn about angles and properties of shapes they have learnt about right angles, acute angles and obtuse.
In Geography class 3 have been learning about the united kingdom and finding out about the physical and human features of Great Britain.
Class 3 well done for such another fantastic week!
Week 4
This week, children have explored a non fiction text about a very famous civil right activist Martin Luther King. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.
In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have been introduced to a biography and they will be creating a biography about Tom Fletcher. Class 3 have started to write their biography about Tom Fletcher.
In Maths class 3 have started to learn about angles and properties of shapes they have learnt about right angles, acute angles and obtuse.
In Geography class 3 have been learning about the united kingdom and finding out about the physical and human features of Great Britain.
On Thursday the whole school were involved in the St Michaels Summer Fayre this allowed the children to take part in a variety of carnival games and win lots of prizes.

Week 3
This week, children have explored a non fiction text about a very famous author called Cressida Cowell. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.
In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have been introduced to a biography and they will be creating a biography about Tom Flectcher. Class 3 are currently reading a book called The Creakers and Tom Flectcher is the author of this book.
In Maths class 3, have been learning about length and comparing different units of measure and finding the perimeter of a shape.
On Wednesday class 3 finally put all of there music lessons to the test as they went to the Metrodome in Barnsley to take part in a music Festival. All of the children did a fantasic job of playing the recorders.

Week 2
This week, children have explored a text called The Wilderness which is a text based a narrative. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.
In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have continued to watch and plan out their lighthouse narrative so that they will be ready to write up their own story of the lighthouse.
In Maths class 3, have been learning about length and comparing different units of measure. Year 4 have been focusing on how to find the area of a shape.
In Geography class 3, have been learning all about the united kingdom and later on in the term class 3 will research their local area.

Week 1
On Monday, class 3 children went on a wonderful school trip to Magna and they learnt all about the 4 elements of nature; water, air, earth and fire.
This week, children have explored a text called Chadwick and the Sea Serpent which is a text based a narrative. Class 3 continued to improve on their vocabulary and fluency. However, towards the end of the week children worked on their comprehension skills by answering question about the text.
In Literacy this week, Children in class 3 have continued to watch and plan out their lighthouse narrative so that they will be ready to write up their own story of the lighthouse.
In Maths class 3, have been learning about length and comparing different units of measure. Year 4 have been focusing on how to find the area of a shape.
In PE, children have been practicing so that they are all ready their sports
day on the 21st June 2024 .
