Autumn 2

Week 7- It's Christmas!!!!!

We made it! What a challenging term it's been! But once again our children have continued to develop resilience, shown courage, worked hard and tried their best always with a smile! We hope that everyone has a well deserved, wonderful Christmas holiday with family and friends and we look forward to the start of a new fun filled year!

Here's a few pictures of all the festive fun this week!...

Christmas Crafts: We enjoyed making festive, Christmas crowns for our party day!

Christmas dinner...served by the Elves!

Christmas party lunch!

Christmas games and spending our well earned credits in the credit shop!

Having fun with photo props, in the selfie booth, for our new year calendars!

Week 6

In Literacy we have started to gather vocabulary for our Christmas acrostic poems.

In Art we have been painting snowmen ready for our Christmas cards.

Some of us came back for a special movie night treat in our class bubbles. We came back all snuggly and warm in our pjs, had hot chocolate and Christmas cookies and watched Christmas Chronicles with our friends. A lovely festive evening enjoyed by all!

Week 4 and 5

Over the pas two weeks we have been listening to a story called Toby and the Great Fire of London. We wrote a diary like Samuel Pepys as if we were Toby describing what we could hear, see and smell during those terrible few days in 1666.

Week 3

London's Burning Song (History/Music)

We have been singing this song linked to our History topic - 'The Great Fire of London'. We learnt how to sing in a round. A round, in music, is a song which can be sung by two or more groups of people.

This week we celebrated Odd Socks Day where we celebrate everyone's differences. We designed our own odd socks, we made a human kindness chain passing compliments to the next person, we said one kind word to each other and thought of ways to spread this year's one kind word message. To finish our afternoon we learnt Andy's Odd Socks song.

In gymnastics we practiced different shapes and ways to move. We can do a star, pike, straddle and tuck shape whilst moving through the apparatus safely.

Week 2

In maths we have been taking part in Rock Week- A competition on TT Rockstars. The children were given passwords and enjoyed answering the times tables questions. Some children have been increasing their speed and accuracy at number recognition helping them to add numbers to 10 with ease.

Week 1

We learnt all about bonfire night and how to stay safe!

We have been focusing on identifying the features of non-fiction texts and using the information to find answers to questions. We have been writing super sentences!

In literacy we have been looking at the differences between fiction and non-fiction books.
