Every week our page will be updated with all the things we have been busy with in school. Did you see all the amazing things we did in Spring 2?
A few points to note this half term.... (updated information in bold)
Class 2- Summer 1- Medium Term Plan
wk6 - w/c 22nd May 2023
Computing and Music
In music this half term, we have been listening to 'The Dragon Song' by Joanna Mangona and Pete Readman which tells the story of Lesley the Dragon who flies around the world in search of friendship. We have used this song as inspiration to design and compose our own piece of digital music in computing. First we designed our composition by considering the instruments and sound effects that would best represent a dragon. We then used our plans to compose and create the song on '2 Sequence'. We even recorded and uploaded our own sound effects to add to our composition. It was a very noisy lesson but pretty fun!!
Wk 5 w/c 15.5.23
This week we will be participating in mental health week. Each day we will be looking at a different feeling or emotion and exploring what this means to us and how we can support others.
Today we looked at gratitude and explored the feeling of being grateful. The children were able to share all the things they were grateful for. I encouraged the children to draw a gratitude garden and to think about the little things in life they should and can be grateful for.
Sending lots of love for our wounded soldier!
All the school and especially class 2 are thinking of our brave friend. We wish him lots of love and can't wait to see him soon.
Super proud of our Y2 Children
All the staff at school are so proud of our wonderful y2 children. They have worked so hard on their 'special papers' this week!! Well done!
This week our year 2 children will be sitting their SATS. We like to keep this very low key and tell the children they will be completing some quizzes that will show off all their learning. We know they are going to do their absolute best!

Do you love reading? Then, get excited for our book fair! We’ll have lots of amazing books for sale from £2 to £4 each! Come and grab a bargain!

Week 4 w/c 10.5.23
Week 3 - w/c 1st May 2023
Super Star!!
How proud were we all of Harvey today?? He sang his favourite song from start to end in front of the entire class! How super brave! We were all amazed!!
Unfortunately the video size was too large to upload (and Mrs Levick's IT skills don't stretch to video editing!) so we have screen shot the video. His passion and voice is not captured in the images but trust us....it was fantastic!
Our Class 2 Coronation Picnic Party
We have really enjoyed our coronation class picnic today. We all had our lunch on picnic rugs in the sunshine. There were cupcakes, buns, crisps, drinks, sandwiches and all sorts of yummy treats. After our lunch, we played festive coronation games including 'Pin the Crown on the King' and 'Kings in the Corners'. We had such a great time!
Week 2 - w/c 24/04/2023
Computing - Mini musicians!
We have used Purple Mash to independently log in to 2Simple to compose our own music. We have added notes to compose songs and have changed the instruments. We have enjoyed exploring and layering the different musical instruments.
The Scarecrows' Wedding
This week we have been reading The Scarecrows' Wedding. We have lved building our own scarecrow. We named him Steve! We will be writing instructions on how to make a scarecrow later in the week.
Week 1- Wk Bg 17.4.23
Editing our Final Draft
We have worked really hard this week writing our own version of Supertato and creating our own characters. We have used pens to write our final drafts!
Seaside Landscape Art
We have learnt about composition and used a ruler to draw the horizon. We then designed our own seaside landscape and used cut out seaside objects to try in different locations to arrange the best composition.
