Summer 2 - Local Study
Week ending Fri 12th July 2024
In P.E. Class 4 teamed up with some of Year 6 and played Kick Ball Rounders and then traditional Rounders. They enjoyed great games with lots of rounders, catch outs and bases stumped. A good time was had by all.
On Tuesday we were joined by mums, dads, big sisters and grandparents for the afternoon. The children had a choice between drawing and sewing a monster in a box.
Week ending Fri 5th July 2024
To finalise the Design Technology project, the children used the laptops to programme a Micro-Bit to light up. They had to design a wearable pouch to hold a light up gadget. Well done everyone.
Week ending Fri 28th June 2024
The children have designed and made their e-charm pouches in Design Technology. Next step is to programme the light up Micro-Bit next week.
Week ending Fri 21st June 2024
St. Pius Evacuation Day
On Wednesday the year 5's went to St. Pius to experience a day in the life of a pupil in world War 2. They created their own propoganda characters, analysed some poetry and learnt about the life in World War 2. They particularly enjoyed the practice air raid.
R.E
In R.E. this week,, we started our new topic: stewardship.
In this topic we consider our role as stewards of the Earth and how us humans care or not for our planet home. In this week's lesson, the children answered a series of questions in groups. Each group used the same coloured pen whilst visiting each question in a carousel.
As you can see from the photos, they really engaged with this task and demonstrated great teamwork.
Week ending Friday 14th June 2024
PE
This week we were practicing Sprinting, we worked on our technique and hopefully with a bit more practice we could have some future Olympic Stars.
RE
A few of our children led this week's worship about Honesty. We all loved it, especially the pebble making ripples in the water like a lie can grow out of control. Our worship leaders told us it was better to let the truth ripple out wide to touch everyone's life.
