Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School

Autumn 2

Well what a fantastic week we have had in class 1! Our Christmas play- "Baubles" was a huge success as all the children were wonderful. They sang their hearts out and looked adorable on stage- some real talent😃

The children have loved Christmas jumper day, Christmas dinner and our Christmas party this week. Thank you all for so many lovely cards and presents! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We have been doing "Home learning challenges" for our homework for the last 3 weeks and some of the work that is being completed is just amazing! Thank you to all the grown ups for the time and effort you are obviously putting in! Just doing 1 or 2 of the challenges each week will have a positive impact on your child's learning, confidence and interests.
Wow! What a fantastic trip we had on Friday. We went to The National Emergency Services museum in Sheffield for the day and had so much fun and learned lots about how to keep safe and who can help us. All the children were so well behaved and polite and we were extremely proud of each and every one of them for representing our school so well. Our photos capture some of the amazing moments from the day.
Our Cornerstones topic this half term is "Will you read me a story". We will be taking a different traditional tale each week to focus our literacy and topic work on. Week 1 was "Jack and the Beanstalk", week 2 was "Goldilocks and the 3 Bears" and this week is "The Gingerbread Man". Our highlights so far this half term have been our trip to the library, making our own porridge and also a story session in class where the lady from the library came to read us lots of fabulous stories! Lots of our grown ups have been able to join us on our trip to the library and also to our story session in class - thank you 😃
One family, growing together in love and faith, flourishing in a diverse and ever-changing world. We love, we believe, we shine, we achieve.
